Bio:

Silvia Solidoro obtained a PhD in Law and Economics from the Institute of Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies (ISUFI) in Italy in 2011 (graduated with full marks, first class honors degree). Her thesis provided an in-depth explanation of the challenges faced by national judicial authorities when dealing with the financial distress of companies owning subsidiaries in different countries.

Silvia is currently working as a Research Associate at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. From 2007 to 2011, she served as a Lecturer and Teaching Assistant in International Law at the University of Salento, Law Faculty in Lecce, Italy. Silvia held seminars and took part in several conferences; her main research interests deal with insolvency, international and antitrust law.

Starting from 2009, she has been consulting on corporate legal and competition policy matters with the Investment Climate Department of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the World Bank Group, in Washington, DC, USA, with a focus on economy-wide and sector-specific reforms aimed at fostering private sector development.

Silvia earned her law degree (magna cum laude) in 2006 and was admitted to practice law in Italy in 2009.
