Bio:

Antonio Leandro is a Full Professor of Public and Private International Law at the Department of Economics, Management and Business Law of the University of Bari Aldo Moro (Italy). He is also "avvocato" qualified to practice before the Italian Supreme Court.

Member of the Group of Experts on Restructuring and Insolvency Law and a former member of the Group of Experts on European Freezing of Bank Accounts appointed by the DG Justice of the European Commission, he joined technical or scientific meetings on insolvency topics organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the UNCITRAL Secretariat, and the Presidency of the Council of the EU.

He occasionally joins the Italian delegation at the meetings of the European Judicial Network in Civil and Commercial Matters (in particular, on 20-21 March 2024 he took part in the Brussels meeting related to cross-border insolvency).

Author of four monographs and some 200 papers, he is also editor, or co-editor, of six collective books. He has recently co-edited and contributed to the book The European Insolvency Regulation and Implementing Legislations. A Commentary (Edward Elgar 2024). In 2008, he wrote a book on the role of the lex concursus within the European Insolvency Regulation. In 2018, he co-edited a book on the international and European horizons in cross-border business crises for the LUISS Department of Law Series.

He serves on the editorial boards of many journals, is involved in several scientific projects, and speaks at many national and international conferences. He is also a member, inter alia, of the Conference on European Restructuring and Insolvency Law and INSOL Europe.
