Bio:
Tobenna is a top-class legal expert and highly reliable. He was called into the Nigerian Bar in 2013 and became the 5th INSOL Fellow in Nigeria in 2022. He has proven continuously to be a true deal maker through his understanding of business, law and the political climate in Nigeria. He represents local and foreign clients in Venture Capital and Private Equity transactions, International Insolvency & Restructuring, Mergers & Acquisitions, Mining, Arbitration and Criminal & Commercial litigation. His exposure, excellence and integrity has given him a preferential vantage point to liaise with professional colleagues in foreign jurisdictions to represent their clients on cross-border issues that affect their interest in Nigeria. He currently leads the Private Equity Practice Group and the Mining Practice Group of the firm.
He is a facilitator at Business Recovery & Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN) and has been recognized with an award from the Securities & Exchange Commission for his contribution to the growth of the Nigerian Capital Market. He is a member of the Advisory Council of The ELA Initiative, a non-governmental organization established to protect the rights and dignity of Nigerians through education, legal aid and advocacy. He is also a volunteer at Slum2School- a volunteer-driven development organization transforming the society by empowering "underserved" children in slums and remote communities with quality education, entrepreneurial skills, and psychosocial support to enable them to realize their full potential and become social reformers. He currently serves as the Regional Representative Africa of the Mining Committee of the International Bar Association.
He is very skillful in lawn tennis, table tennis and Nigerian soccer.
