Omar Salah is a restructuring and insolvency lawyer based in Amsterdam and London, serving a global client base. He is specialized in finance, restructuring and insolvency.
Omar has extensive experience in advising Dutch and international clients, including banks and other creditors, corporates, government bodies, sponsors, investors and other stakeholders on a range of financial restructuring and insolvency cases, including bank and bond debt restructurings, distressed M&A transactions and trading in non-performing loans. He has been involved in some of the most complex cross-border insolvencies globally, including Dutch WHOA proceedings, Dutch suspension of payments, UK scheme of arrangements and US Chapter 15 proceedings. In addition, Omar has advised various financial institutions in emergency regulations as well as recovery and resolution proceedings.
His practice also covers banking and finance mandates. He has advised on numerous leveraged and acquisition financings, asset-based financings, real estate financings, Islamic finance and investment grade corporate loans.
Before joining Norton Rose Fulbright, Omar worked for a leading Dutch law firm and an international US law firm in Amsterdam, Singapore and London.
In addition to his practice, Omar is a Full Professor (gewoon hoogleraar) at Tilburg University, the Netherlands, where he holds a Chair (leerstoel) in Global Finance and Restructuring Law.
