Darius Tay

Bio:

Darius has spent his entire career focusing on corporate restructuring and insolvency ("CRI"). Passionate about the law and with a keen interest in finance, Darius' focus is on giving his clients practical and commercial advice and chartering a course for them through the stormy seas of distressed situations. He has been ranked in numerous publications in the field of CRI including Chamber & Partners, Legal 500, IFLR 1000 and Benchmark Litigation.

Darius has worked on numerous major cross border restructuring and insolvencies, in particular those in the oil and gas, energy and shipping sectors.

Darius did his undergraduate education at Singapore Management University, graduating near the top of his class, having been awarded a number of scholarships along the way, and being placed on the Dean's list on multiple occasions was the joint top student in his Corporate Insolvency Law class.

Darius continued his post graduate studies at the Bachelor of Civil law at the University of Oxford, being the first SMU law student to under the course and he was also awarded the SMU School of Law Post Graduate Scholarship at the same time. During his time at Oxford, Darius completed a dissertation on the cross border recognition of scheme of arrangement and the controversial Gibbs Rule.
