Matthew is a Barrister at South Square and his practice primarily focuses on insolvency/restructuring with additional practice areas in commercial litigation/arbitration, banking and financial services and company law. He has an interest in international work and in particular work from Asia, the Middle East and the Caribbean.

Prior to joining Chambers, Matthew worked in India, Singapore and Malaysia. In India, Matthew worked as a judicial assistant in the Supreme Court assisting in a wide range of civil and criminal matters. Whilst in Singapore and Malaysia he worked at Shook Lin & Bok LLP, dealing with restructuring and insolvency as well as commercial arbitration.

Matthew recently spent 6 months in Singapore at Clifford Chance working closely with the Litigation and Dispute Resolution department focusing on cross-border insolvency and commercial arbitration both arising out of disputes in Asia and the Middle East.

As a result of his time abroad Matthew developed strong professional ties in the countries he visited and has an interest in carrying out work relating to those jurisdictions.

Matthew is a co-author of Corporate Administrations and Rescue Procedures, 3rd Edition and contributor to International Corporate Rescue.
